Signed up for Twitter just 2 months ago and hav found it an interesting place to see and hear what's going on around the world.

One member provides updates with newsfrom Afganistan. Check it out here: AfghanistanNews

Another is in the military and writes interesting updates about what's going on with his buddies around the world who are in the miliatry: milblogging / Military Blogs

Personal favorite is by Gabi Campanario at seattlesketcher . Gabi is an artist living in Seattle (my birthplace) who works for the Seattle Times Nespaper. He goes around the city and sketches scenes and posts them for all to see and read about.
